Waste-In-Place WorkshopsWaste-In-Place Workshops Toward the goal of providing teachers with curricular content and training to use with K-6th grade elementary school students, six-hour training workshops are presented at least once and often twice a year for teachers in the Baton Rouge area through the Evlyn J. Daniel Foundation. Workshops cover solid waste topics such as landfills, composting, litter, waste-to-energy, and recycling, and provide teachers with a curriculum on these topics which includes lesson plans and activities to use as resources in the class room. Each teacher who attends a WIP workshop leaves with a curriculum binder worth more than $45.00.
